What types of organizations do we donate our monthly profits to?

350:
350.org is an organization dedicated to bringing climate change awareness to the public.  They work through social media and grassroots movements to bring about change in legislation and encourages the public to hold our leaders accountable to science.  Environmental issues are not just a planetary problem, they are also social and economic issues to the general public that must be addressed.

American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU):
ACLU.org is an organization that makes sure our liberties and individual rights as citizens are guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States and works to prevent government abuse of our rights.

Amnesty International:
Amnesty International is an organization fighting social injustices globally.  They work with legislators, the public, and other government officials around the world to end human rights violations.

Defenders of Wildlife:
Defenders of Wildlife is an organization dedicated to wildlife and habitat conservation.  They are a major national conservation organization that defends the inherent value of the natural world.  Donation proceeds go toward protection and restoration of periled species of plants and animals.  This organization achieves this through policy and public education.

Humane Society International:
Humane Society International fights to end animal cruelty in laboratories, farms, wildlife, and companion animals.  This organization works globally to confront cruelty through education, rescues in natural disasters, animal placement, and much more.

Sea Shepherd Conservation Society:
Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is an international marine wildlife conservation organization that fights to protect our ocean friends from poaching, habitat destruction, and illegal activities.

Sierra Club:
Sierra Club was founded by the legendary John Muir.  Muir's organization is now the most influential environmental organization.  This organization works to help keep lands protected from development and they helped pass a number of helpful legislations (Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and Endangered Species Act, for example).

The Gentle Barn:
The Gentle Barn is an animal sanctuary in Santa Clarita, California.  They have rescued over 170 animals and they also recently opened up a second sanctuary in Knoxville, Tennessee.  "Their goal is to open Gentle Barns in every state so that everyone in America can hug a cow, cuddle a turkey, give a pig a tummy rub, look into the eyes of these animals and know for certain that we are all the same, and deserving of the same rights, respects, and freedoms."
